I read in the paper today, researchers have found by testing on animals, that taking a daily shower could give you permanent brain damage - apparently there is manganese in tap water and by breathing it in, it could reach toxic levels in ten years - I have a shower on average a couple of times a day so that only gives me five years - In any case I already have a head start - In the "olden days" we didn't have a shower or bathroom and the toilet was outside - It was a tin bath and a wash at the kitchen sink - sometimes for a treat it was the public baths - the old house/cottage we lived in had mice and many's the time I've got the kitchen chair and stood on it, moved it forward, stood on it, moved it forward until I reached the sink - I still don't like mice.

While the cat's away, the mice can play.
